When You No Longer Recognize Yourself
There are moments in life when something shifts… quietly.
Not in a way that anyone else can easily notice,
not in a way you can even fully explain.
But you feel it.
In the way certain conversations no longer feel the same.
In the way familiar spaces begin to feel distant.
In the way your reactions change… without you trying.
And suddenly, you pause.
Because something inside you feels unfamiliar.
You look at yourself and think—
when did this change?
It’s not always comfortable.
There’s a subtle grief in it…
a quiet awareness that parts of you are no longer there.
The version of you that once fit certain places,
that once held onto certain things,
that once understood life in a different way…
is slowly fading.
And even if that version needed to go,
even if you’ve outgrown it…
it still feels strange to let it go.
No one really talks about this part.
The part where growth doesn’t feel exciting.
The part where it doesn’t feel like progress.
It feels like confusion.
Like distance.
Like standing in between who you were and who you’re becoming.
But maybe this isn’t something to fear.
Maybe this is what it looks like
when you begin to see more clearly.
When your inner world becomes quieter,
more honest… more aligned.
When you stop forcing yourself to stay
where you no longer belong.
You are not lost.
Even if it feels that way sometimes.
You are just… changing.
Gently.
Quietly.
In ways that don’t need to be rushed or understood all at once.
And maybe, instead of trying to go back
to what felt familiar…
you can allow yourself
to move forward
into what feels true.🤍
