What gentle growth has been teaching me lately
Lately, I’ve been noticing how my idea of growth has been quietly changing.
For a long time, I thought growing meant doing more.
More discipline.
More structure.
More proof that I was moving forward.
But there have been days—many of them—when doing more wasn’t possible.
Days when my energy was low, my thoughts were heavy, and the only thing I could offer myself was rest.
At first, that felt like falling behind.
Like pausing meant failing.
But slowly, something shifted.
I began to see that gentle growth doesn’t always look productive.
Sometimes it looks like listening to your body.
Like choosing softness over pressure.
Like allowing yourself to move slowly without turning it into guilt.
I’m learning that growth can be quiet.
That it can happen beneath the surface, unseen, unmeasured.
That some seasons aren’t about building more—but about holding yourself with care.
And maybe that’s still growth.
Just a different kind.
If you’re in a season where your progress feels invisible, where slowing down feels necessary but uncomfortable,
I hope you know this:
You’re not doing it wrong.
You’re just growing in a way that doesn’t ask to be rushed.
🌿 A gentle note
