The moments we forget to notice
There are days when life feels heavy… not because something is wrong, but because we’ve drifted too far from what is real.
We wake up, reach for our phones, and step into a world that is constantly moving, constantly asking, constantly comparing. A world that quietly convinces us that we are behind, that we need more, that we should be somewhere else, someone else.
And without even noticing, we begin to overlook what is already here.
We forget the people who love us — not in grand, perfect ways, but in small, consistent, human ways.
A message.
A look.
A presence.
We forget the warmth of a home, even if it’s not perfect.
We forget the simple, almost invisible miracle of waking up and being given another day.
As if it will always be there.
As if we will always be here.
But life doesn’t promise permanence.
It offers moments.
And those moments… they are easy to miss.
We get so used to living through screens, through expectations, through the need to appear a certain way… that we slowly disconnect from what is actually happening right in front of us.
We scroll past our own lives.
We measure our days against curated versions of someone else’s reality.
We chase a version of “enough” that keeps moving further away.
We fill our time, but feel empty.
And somewhere in between all of that… we stop truly seeing.
Seeing the way light enters a room in the morning.
The way someone we love laughs.
The way our breath feels when we finally slow down.
The quiet peace that exists when nothing extraordinary is happening.
Life is not meant to be lived as a performance.
It is meant to be felt.
Not everything needs to be documented.
Not everything needs to be shared.
Not everything needs to be perfect.
Some moments are meant just for you.
A pause.
A breath.
A step outside.
A moment of stillness where nothing is required of you.
And maybe… that’s where we begin to come back.
Back to ourselves.
Back to what matters.
Back to the truth that life, in its simplest form, is already beautiful.
Not because everything is perfect.
But because it is real.
So today, gently…
Pause.
Put the phone down for a moment.
Look around.
Look again.
There is more here than you think.
And it’s been waiting for you all along 🤍
With love,
