The Quiet Courage to Trust Yourself

The Quiet Courage to Trust Yourself

There comes a moment — quiet, almost unnoticeable —
when you realize that waiting no longer feels safe.
Not because fear disappears,
but because staying still starts to feel heavier than moving forward.

We often think courage means being fearless.
But it doesn’t.
Courage is choosing to trust yourself
even when everything feels uncertain.
Even when your voice shakes.
Even when no one else fully understands what you’re building.

Fear doesn’t mean stop.
It simply means you’re stepping into something new.
And in a world that moves fast, judges quickly,
and constantly demands certainty…
learning to trust your own instincts becomes a quiet rebellion.

A powerful one.

Because the truth is —
no one else can feel what you feel.
No one else sees your vision the way you do.
And waiting for permission
will only keep you standing at the same door.

Fear delays.
Fear doubts.
Fear questions everything.

But courage…
courage moves.

Even if slowly.
Even if imperfectly.
Even if it’s just one small step forward.

So if you feel that pull —
that gentle but persistent voice inside you —

Listen to it.

Trust it.

Because sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do
is simply decide:

“I’m going to try anyway.”

Mike,

Thank you so much for this… truly.

There’s something very special about the way you described fear, not as something to fight, but as something to listen to. That kind of awareness is so powerful, even when it feels quiet.

And you’re right… there is something deeply grounding about trusting your instincts — not because they’re always easy, but because they’re yours. 🤍

Thank you for being part of this space.

I feel like the process of trusting yourself is tough. We’re all being brave in our own ways, fighting small battles to some, but big ones to others

Part of that process, I think, is allowing yourself to feel fear, and to feel wrong. Whether it comes from the people around you, or from yourself.

I think it’s important to appreciate fear. There’s something beautiful about it, it pushes you to move, to try. Maybe not in the way you expect, but in the way you need.

To be afraid is to recognize that you’re stepping out of something that no longer feels right for you. And instead of ignoring that fear or fighting it, I think we should listen to it, word by word, and learn from it. Listening to your fears is, in a way, listening to yourself.

Thank you for this reminder. It made me think that if I follow my instincts, I can’t really be wrong, because I’m being loyal to myself 🤍
